There are moments in time where you feel an evergrowing gratitude towards the world. Maybe it's gratitude towards a person or thing. In this case, I am grateful to be a Latino millennial dad creating inspiring and informative content across social media and platforms like this one.

Just last week, I was in Miami for the largest event for Latino content creators, journalists, and media outlets. This is by far, one of the greatest events my wife and I have attended. There is more value to this than networking along and there is so much that goes on that I'll do a Facebook Live later to share a little of what Hispanicize is about.

So as you have already read the title of this post, I won an award last Thursday the 19th at the Tecla Awards. An awards ceremony event where the finalist creators from different categories are announced. I was one of the finalists for the Best Family Content Creator and I have to admit, my nerves were on edge the whole time!! I was shocked when my name was called, not so much because I won, but because of all the people who voted for me and the community, we have built together across social media. I completely forgot the short speech I had prepared once I walked on stage haha. The achievement of being a young Hispanic dad, working from home and talking about fatherhood inclusivity, lifestyle and breaking cultural stereotypes.

Hispanicize 2018

As a dad, this is a huge win on so many levels. A win for Latinos, a win for dads, a win for content creators in Texas, and a win for our family. Over the past two years, I have come to learn many different skills I had never thought I would be doing. There have been good and bad times, and when it comes to partnering up with brands, we get shut down more times than we get the golden "yes". This blog has become more than I had anticipated, and a lot of it in a good way. I am loving the opportunities that are starting to come our way. One of them, being able to speak on a dad panel with fellow friends Realitychangers , Jay Mendoza, Juan Of Words, and Film Foodie Ozzy.

We caught up with a lot of friends while in Miami, took plenty of photos and made it out to catch some sun on the beach. We made sure to enjoy our time there every chance we had. The weather was perfect! We had originally planned to take our daughter with us but there were some change of plans and Mila had to stay. We'll be bringing the family next year! I missed my daughter lots but the bright side of this was that Hispanicize was only 3 days this time around and we flew in. Last year, Ashley and I carpooled with our friends Juan and Anjelica. The whole trip was about a week long. The longest we have been without our daughter! This event was inspiring, eye-opening, and offered lots of information regarding the industry, social media, marketing, entertainment, and social good. I'm honored to have been the winner of the Tecla Award and will continue to improve and deliver the best content for you all. Through the many travels and experiences that fatherhood brings me, along with all of your feedback, we can create engaging, informative, and entertaining content. We'll be kicking off our vlog series pretty soon and are excited to share all of our adventures with you all!

What else can I say, I love Miami and I love driving. Winning an award has been a great achievement up to this point and I want to dedicate it primarily to my daughter and wife. Without them, this whole endeavor would have never taken off. I have been inspired many times by my daughter and as mentioned above, continuing to share content revolving around family lifestyle and breaking stereotypes will be one of my missions. Second, I want to dedicate this award to all the parents, who strove to do the best for their children and families, and together shape the future generations! There have been so many opportunities that have come our way and I know many of you may have questions revolving around the work that we do. If you would like to get more insight into that, just let us know in the comment section below or on one of our social media accounts!

Thank you all!!
