By now, it's no surprise that we are constantly on the move and we love creating new experiences and sharing them with you all. I didn't know much about Fiesta, a city of San Antonio celebration of culture and history, and since we were ready to receive the 2017 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring, we made the grand decision to head out to San Antonio and bring the touring experience home! Let's start by explaining what Fiesta is and why it's important. The celebration goes on for 10 consecutive days (April 20-30) honoring the heroes of the Alamo and San Jacinto , you know, Texas history. I was born and raised in Houston and have always been fascinated by the rich culture and history, so it's a no brainer that we made it out to a celebration of history that has been going on since 1891!! So how did the trip go? Let's talk about how 2 young parents made it happen.

Out of all the cars that have been loaned to us, the award-winning Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring has been one of the few cars that we have anxiously been waiting to test drive. For real. When we went to San Diego a few months ago, we tested the Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD, and that was a fun and sporty drive with the family, but knew the redesigned CX-9 would be even better for us. I love the front end design, the upscale ambience lighting, and of course the turbocharged SKYACTIVE-G 2.5T engine! But it's not all about the specs and what the car is but more about the experiences it brings to our lives. And that's why we love to travel. We do things together as a family and experience new things together, just like Fiesta. Even though Ashley was born in San Antonio, neither of us had been to Fiesta before. We packed our bags the day before, like always haha, and of course Camila's clothes, diaper, and all of the things we have learned to pack. By now Camila is used to us going on spontaneous trips like the South Padre trip and Austin trip and may even be more anxious to go on trips than we are!

As I mentioned on the Vlog, we have taken the 168 mile trip from Houston to San Antonio numerous times but the Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring made it feel like it was a completely different trip. The noise in the cabin was very minimal, the ride was smooth, and the seats were really comfortable, all 7 of them! Once in San Antonio, we met with family there and head out to Market Square. It was a bit late so we had to leave Camila with family there since it's not quite kid friendly at night. We had no idea what to expect but you can see for yourself on the vlog. We had fun, heard lots of music, ate a lot of food we probably shouldn't have lol. There are a lot of individual events all across San Antonio and the following day was Fiesta De Los Niños so our Mila was not missing out on anything! We head over to Kelly Air Force Base where the event was being held at. The day was full of food of course, Texas Parks and Wildlife had a booth on site that had an alligator and a lot of species of snakes native to Texas, they even had a baby scallop hammerhead to show the kids what happens to fish when they get caught in fishing nets. I'm proud of the Texas culture, heritage and history and thanks to Mazda USA, we're a little more Texan today than we were before this trip. Even though we only made it to 2 days of Fiesta, we will be going back to bring you back more adventures from this adventurous and spontaneous family! See the day 2 vlog below!

This was an experience we won't soon forget and you know it won't be long until we go on our next trip! Check out the 2017 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring review here!
