I'm sure some of us have that one pair of shoes in our closet that we put aside because we don't have much to pair them with or in some cases, not sure why we bought them in the first place. I love shoes and that's the kind of situation I found myself in Saturday night.

We were attending a Houston Area Blogger event benefiting the Star of Hope Mission. So I did some last minute shopping to pair my blue dress shoes with, which were in need of much-needed love. I've had them for a couple of months now and worn them probably three times! I matched that with my blue-faced Fossil watch and a blue bow tie from H&M. When I got home, the first thing I did was get my outfit together and post it as the #ootn ( Outfit of the Night ). The light shade of the pants and the white shirt really brought out the color of the shoes and the accessories. As soon as I got myself ready Ashley and I headed over to SkyHouse River Oaks.

We took some items for the cause and got to mingling with the other attendees. I was feeling great and ready to make some connections. Want to stop here for a brief second and elaborate the importance of losing that fear of talking to other people. You never know who you'll meet or who that person knows. Connections are important, especially in this day and age. OK! So we got the party started with some Dash Handmade Vodka, a first and handmade here in Texas. Also, it has nothing to do with the ever-famous Kardashian sisters, which was the first thing I thought. Down that went, and the party got started.

We were in for quite the treat when Pollo Tropical showed up with the food. I don't know about you but when I go out I'm looking out for the food. For those who haven't tried Pollo Tropical yet, what are you waiting for! I love stopping by on a Saturday Morning. It's a great go-to switching around the Mexican or Tex-Mex cycle. Be adventurous!

Before closing out the party there was a raffle to take place. Everyone huddles up by the fireplace and there were cheers, claps, and excited yells from the raffles winners! I only didn't win because i wasn't in the raffle lol. We were delighted to have contributed to a good cause and have met the wonderful people in attendance. It's what we are all about, connections and friendships! After all, it's good to have a different perspective; a different outlook.

Ashley always there to complete the great couple that we are
