Light layering is one way to distinguish the fall the season from the rest! I've been dressing pretty casual for a while, so i am going to start dressing up here and there leading up to the holidays! Depending on where you are located, you may be wearing multiple layers, a cardigan like I did here, or still wearing t-shirts. It's been cool lately, but of all days, today warmed up a bit more than the other days did and I was near breaking a sweat while shooting these pics! It's ok though, we got through it and now we can talk about light layering and how easy it is to transition your outfits.

It was time to change my wardrobe rotation, so I switched my t-shirts and shorts for some sweaters and chinos, and of course, boots! I am a sucker for boots and when I saw these work boots in suede material, I picked them up without hesitation haha. At first glance, I seriously thought they were chukka boots. So what did I layer with for the cooler weather? I went for something easy, casual, and warm. I wore a white oxford shirt paired with a black and charcoal gray tie. I was thinking of a navy blue tie as well but I passed on it. Let me know what you think about that in the comment section below! Over the shirt, I wore a grey cardigan and un buttoned the bottom button. On to the bottoms, I chose a recently acquired pair of navy blue chino pants to contrast with the cardigan and the boots.

Blue colors always go well with brown and work very well for almost every occasion. For the footwear, I wore these work boots I picked up for less than $50 (USD). The suede material is not bad, you do get what you pay for. The materials are however, quite thin and go best with thick or wool socks. After all, you're trying to stay warm right!? Wearing a tie means that most of the time your shirt will be buttoned up all the way and this locks in body heat. Throw a cardigan, light sweater or jacket over and you will be nice and cozy, and of course stylish. There are many different kind of sweaters you can wear and you can check them out here! I matched my belt with the color of the shoes. This is like a general rule of thumb, but you don't always have to follow it. I feel like some style rules are just there to guide you towards your own personal style.

The watch is an automatic townsmen watch by Fossil and can be found here. You can find the pants here, the shirt here, the cardigan here and last but not least, the boots are here !
