I recently met someone, and as the conversation took its course, we came upon the subject of dad caps, and began to wonder why I hadn't brought this up before even though I have a bunch of them. Dad caps are deconstructed caps made up mostly of cotton and usually have some sort of embroidery, usually a company name or logo. With the dad caps trending, society has given it a twist of its own. So without any further ado, let's talk about dad caps; how this trend went mainstream and doesn't look like it's leaving anytime soon!
Before dad caps infiltrated the mainstream fashion world, they were being worn by dads all over the world. Dads would wear them because these were the hats they would receive at company retreat or golf tournament. They were far from a fashion staple until the spring-summer of 2015, designers and brands began to make this a trend with the help of performers like Kanye West, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, and Drake. Soon after, everyone was wearing dad caps and pretty much took all stores by storm. It didn't take long before independent online stores began making their own merchandise and also creating various embroidered designs.

As a young dad, I can relate more to the millennial generation than the dads of the previous generation. I think this is really cool, and is a trend that is here to stay. These hats aren't just fashionable, but they are relatively cheap and can be found anywhere in sizes and colors for EVERYONE. I totally dig the dad caps and actually have a bunch of them like this other one here. I also still have plenty of hats that I have received at companies and events that are dad caps but aren't as nice as what we have available on the market today. This trend has now been around for 2 strong years and with some people barely catching on to it, this is one trend that won't be going away anytime soon. Here are some outfits where I am wearing a dad caps all the while being a dad. So whether you are a dad or not, all dad caps are still a hot trend that everyone can enjoy.
